I acted as if I had arranged a rendez-vous with someone at 4pm in a cafe.
As nobody came I left after half an hour.

For several months I acted as if I knew that the Vélib* station closest to my flat was already full. I therefore anticipated this and left my bike in the station before that, making the rest of my journey home on foot.
*for those who are not familiar with the Vélib bike-rental service, there’s always an element of anxiety as to whether there will be a free spot available or not.

An afternoon, I acted as if I needed a binding comb to join documents. So I bought a pack in the nearest shop.

One day, I acted as if my dirty laundry was delicate. I washed it on the “delicate” cycle and hung it out instead of using the tumble-drier.

One evening a friend invited me to watch Sleeper on cinema. I declined it explaining that I wanted to act as if I already had seen it a couple of days before.

For a few weeks, when I was outside, I acted as if I had no means of telling the time. When I needed to know the time I asked passers-by or searched for a clock.

For a couple of months, I made several visits to Père Lachaise cemetery acting as if I had known Hratchine EKSERDJIAN who is buried here. The first time was a simple visit; I spent 3 minutes in front of his grave. The second time I washed his grave. Since then I have gone back to spend time there.

One morning getting off the RER train at Cergy Prefecture (Paris suburb), I acted as if the police were waiting at the turn-style to stop people travelling without a ticket. Instead of using the turn-style as normal, I went back to the platform, took the train back to the first station, picked up a ticket there and re-made my trip to Cergy Prefecture and used my ticket to pass through the turn-style.

An afternoon while coming home, I acted as if my shoes were all wet. I dried them for four hours on my radiator and put my socks in the washing machine.

For about ten days I acted as if the street I live on (rue Montgallet, Paris) was a cul-de-sac (blocked at Avenue Daumesnil). During this time I changed my route for most of my usual tasks, when I was shopping, doing my washing, and picking up a bike etc.

On several occasions, I acted as if there was a bin in the corner of my room. When I threw away my papers, they accumulated in a heap over the course of a few weeks.

During one day (12 hous exactly), I acted as if I was stark naked. I stayed in my bedroom in order to avoid being “seen” by my flatmates and therefore didn’t eat for the entire day. Luckily I was able to wash because the bathroom connects to my bedroom.

An evening while coming home, I acted as if I couldn’t find my keys. So I knocked on the door wishing someone could open. Luckily, one of my flatmates was here. Since, I repeated this experience several times, and each time somebody was here to open.

One afternoon, for a couple of hours, I acted as if I had no desk in my room. I put all the things that were usually on my desk on the floor and used them like that.
